Hospital Training Certificate (Casualty):

After completing the 2-month practical posting in Casualty, the partner hospital issues a training certificate. It records your department (Casualty), duty period, key responsibilities and procedures, and supervisor sign-off. Together with the BSS diploma, it proves both academic completion and real emergency care experience.

EMS Course Syllabus

The PG Diploma in Emergency Medical Services is a 1-year academic program with a fixed 2-month practical posting in Casualty at partner hospitals in Pune. Assessment

PGDEMS Course

PGDEMS Course stands for Post Graduate Diploma in Emergency Medical Services. It is a one-year EMS course.

eMediSkill previously offered a PGDEMS course. Delivery was classroom heavy. Large batches of about 100 to 200 students met on Saturdays. Exams were held offline in Pune.

Short cons: overcrowded classrooms, fixed weekend schedule, interrupted learning, theory-heavy teaching, no continuous clinical immersion, offline exams with travel.

Why the old PGDEMS format did not work

Teaching method: Most learning happened in a big classroom. Faculty could not give case-by-case feedback. Simulation time was limited. Many learners became passive listeners rather than active trainees.
Schedule rigidity: Sessions were locked to Saturdays. If you missed a Saturday you fell behind a full module. Make-up classes were rare and hard to schedule.
Interrupted learning: One intense day a week led to long gaps. Skills decayed between sessions. There was little continuity from one weekend to the next.
Class size concerns: With 100 to 200 people, hands-on turns were short. It was difficult to ask questions or repeat procedures.
Theory–practice gap: Casualty exposure was not built into the weekly flow. Students often finished slides before they touched real cases.
Offline exams: Everyone had to travel to Pune for the final exam. This added cost, leave approvals, and logistics.
Operational messiness: Timetables changed when halls or faculty were unavailable. Notices arrived late. Learners struggled to align hospital work, travel, and study.

What we changed and why we stopped PGDEMS

We discontinued the PGDEMS course and built a better path for doctors.
